FLUGT
A museum in Esbjerg that provides a better understanding of migration and its consequences.
At the end of World War II, 250,000 German civilians arrive in occupied Denmark. A dramatic and violent escape. The reason: the Red Army's attack on Nazi Germany in the last months of the war. Once again, civilians were affected. Millions of Germans fled their homes. In 1945, the largest camp in Denmark was established in Oksbøl, housing 35,000 refugees. History keeps repeating itself... That is why this new museum was created in June 2022. To reflect and understand migration and its consequences.
