MARCHÉ INTERNATIONAL VIKING DE RIBE
It is possible to relive the Viking world in Ribe. Between stalls and workshops, dressed in Viking style, we drink a little and sleep... little!
For 700 years, Ribe has played host to the largest of the Viking markets. The street along the river, now known as Sct. Nicolajgade, was in the 9th century the main artery of a fair where craftsmen and merchants from Scandinavia, England, the Frankish kingdom, Spain and Byzantium set up their stalls. They rented a small plot of land from the king's official and, in exchange, received protection. A unique atmosphere and craftsmanship.
