This old Gothic-style house in Ribe was inherited by Karin Madsdatter and her siblings.
This old Gothic-style house was first mentioned in 1496, but is thought to be much older. Karin Madsdatter and her siblings had inherited it from their father, the gunsmith Mads Pedersen Skriver. It was purchased by the town of Ribe for use as a town hall in 1709. Originally, there were two separate houses. Above the doors are two Latin inscriptions: "Christ reigns" and "Christ triumphs", carved in sandstone.
