CHURCH (KIRKE)
Church that revealed an important secret during restoration: a tomb under the choir with bones and jewels...
Built around 1100, after the destruction by fire of three previous churches, this church revealed during a restoration in 1970, an important secret: a tomb under the choir, with bones and jewels! The remains of King Gorm had probably been transferred here to give him a Christian burial. To mark the year 2000, these bones were transferred from the National Museum in Copenhagen to a niche in the church. On the floor is a plaque with the dedication " King Gorm. Buried in the mound in 959 and later buried here ".
