A whole night of partying! Races, religious ceremonies, farandoles, balls... the streets of Tórshavn are alive with excitement.
At the end of July, all of Tórshavn is on the street in traditional clothes. Long dresses and kerchiefs on the shoulders for the women, corsair trousers open to the knees, waistcoat and cap color maroon on the head for the men. The afternoon of the first day begins with a parade bringing together all the sportsmen and women who will be competing for two days. Horse races, traditional boat races, farandoles... The next day, things are more serious: the entire government and authorities of the archipelago go in procession to the cathedral.
