ST. BRENDAN'S CHURCH (BRANDARSKIRKJAN)
From the century onwards, this site was used by the religious and royal powers to build their regalia and residences.
All that is left is a wall above the pebbles and a piece of column in the middle of the meadow. It was built in the 15th century on the remains of the church of Mary, itself built in the 11th century. It is here, from the 12th century, that the religious and royal powers, allied, had their finery and their residences built. In what is today a simple hamlet, stood the residence of the bishop of the Faroes with all its dependencies, and no less than three churches!
