NORTHERN MUSEUM (NORÐOYA FORMINNASAVN)
Museum founded in 1968 in Klaksvík, presenting exhibitions on daily life in the Faroe Islands in recent years...
Near the Föroyar beer brewery on the harbour, an old black building, formerly a pharmacy, bears witness to the power that the former royal trade monopoly could confer in the region. The merchant who had this house built in 1838 had even minted his own money! The museum was founded in 1968. There are two exhibitions. One on the daily life in the Faroes in recent years. The second, The Chemistry, was converted into a draper's workshop in 1919.
