AQUARIUM

Føroya Sjósavn is an aquarium located in Argir, Faroe Islands. Founded in 2006, its aim is to showcase the marine habitats surrounding the Faroe Islands. The aquarium is run by an autonomous institution, financially supported by the municipality of Tórshavn and the Faroese government. Despite its modest facilities, Føroya Sjósavn is a great success, welcoming around 10,000 visitors a year, of whom around 2,000 are schoolchildren and toddlers who have the opportunity to study marine life up close and learn about the diversity of the sea. Føroya Sjósavn aims to create a space of knowledge and education for people of all ages and levels.
