An impressive building inaugurated in 1981, in the center of the media district, commissioned by Sheikh Zayed. With its 2,250 seats, the National Theatre also serves as an auditorium, a cinema, a conference hall and an exhibition center. Art workshops for children and adults occupy the first floor rooms and two permanent exhibition spaces for photos, paintings, sculptures and other art forms created by local artists. There is a plethora of courses in drawing, painting, calligraphy, photography, sculpture and ceramics.
