Get your camera ready because the National Aquarium opened on November 12, 2021 and it is mega amazing. With over 46,000 creatures, the new attraction is located in Al Qana in Abu Dhabi. It is the largest aquarium in the Middle East; it contains over 200 sharks and rays.
Wondering what you'll find? Step inside the largest tunnel in the Middle East and you'll find yourself surrounded by divers and over 22,000 animals. In the water if you want to dive or out of the water, you'll be blown away by all the incredible things there are to see, from rainforest habitat to coral reef. This is the only place in the Middle East where you can see both hammerheads and bull sharks. You can also see tiger sharks, black tip reef sharks, eagle rays, cow nose rays and more. You can also watch feeding demonstrations and even hand-feed sharks up to two meters in length.
A partnership with the Abu Dhabi Environment Agency allows hundreds of injured turtles to be rescued and returned to their natural environment once they have been cared for. Educational activities on marine life and the environment are also offered. Young and old alike will marvel at this wonderful new place.
