With a large amphitheater, hall, workshops and children's library..
Built in 1981 by the group of architects, The Architects' Collaborative (TAC), this building was designed to house temporary exhibitions, organize intellectual, creative and cultural activities. While many people wanted to destroy it, it was saved in extremis. This place is a strong sign that culture is one of the priorities of the emirate. The monument is a marvel, dotted with decorative elements of different materials (wood, earthenware, concrete, marble, etc.) and multiple colors.
Classical music concerts are held regularly in the large amphitheater with a capacity of 1,000 people. In the large hall, works by Emirati and Middle Eastern artists are exhibited. On the first floor, artists in residence have magnificent workshops to practice their talents. A library dedicated to children organizes many activities. Adults can sign up for various artistic workshops... If you are lucky, you will be able to meet and discuss at the first exchange with the professor Mohamed Mandi who likes to share his passion for calligraphy: originally a communication tool, with time, it has become a source of decoration for architects. It only takes a few seconds for Mohamed to transform your name into a work of art and a few hours to introduce you to this locally important art. Sheikh Zayed, who initiated this foundation, would be proud to see how much it contributes to the influence of local culture.
