CAMPING SAUVAGE

Counter at zero at the traffic circle of the main road (23°07'10 "N 53°45'07 "E), we take the asphalt road east-southeast signposted to Moreeb Dune which is 24 km further, we go in 4x4 in the lost valley. A few more kilometers and the desert is yours along this destination validated by the experts of the UAE Off-Road guide as an easy escape, without crossing dunes. In fact, you can stay on the main road until you find the ideal and soft side to camp. We preferred to switch to off-road mode to avoid getting stuck, having first deflated the tires to 15 PSI before leaving the tarmac. Installation at the end of the afternoon, setting up of the camp, setting up of the barbecue, cooler stuffed with ice. We are the king of the world! In the morning, coffee under the clear cobalt canopy, toilet with wipes and meticulous cleaning of the place and inspection of the shoes to dislodge a scorpion friend who would have established his bed there. Nothing must be left behind, not even a cigarette filter! Unforgettable, the experience requires a minimum of preparation and equipment (strap, compressor), the prudence to never stray too far from the GSM signal in the soft sand and to master an all-terrain vehicle. It can be practiced at every corner of the dune around the access road to Moreeb Dune. And for those who are afraid of small animals and scorpions: they usually lodge in the tufts of grass or near the bushes. Last advice: go with several vehicles.
