This festival retraces the daily life of the inhabitants before the oil era. It welcomes artisans from all over the emirates.
The Sharjah Heritage Festival coincides with World Heritage Day, celebrated by UNESCO every 18 April. The city's historic district is transformed to welcome artisans from all over the northern emirates. In each of the three sections, desert, sea and oasis, the daily life of the inhabitants before the oil era is retraced. The vast majority of visitors are Emiratis, as they wish to pass on to the younger generations the cultural and intangible heritage of their customs and traditions. A very nice outing at the end of the day.
