HOUSE OF WISDOM
To be inaugurated in 2020, this building by architects Foster+Partners will be a cultural hub for exchanges, workshops and learning.
The House of Wisdom is loosely based on the one in Baghdad. Opening in December 2020, this sublime building by architects Foster+Partners is a contemporary reinterpretation of the 21st century library: a cultural place of exchange, workshops, learning supported by innovation and new technologies. To the south, outside, a Japanese garden invites meditation. To the north, ponds and a sculpture (the scroll) by the artist Gerry Judah rise to almost 35 metres: a contemporary reinterpretation of literary scrolls.
