The recently renovated Khof Fakkan fort appears as it did in the 1950s. Built on the ruins of the fort built by the Portuguese in the 15th century, Hisn Khor Fakkan now houses a museum retracing the rich history of Sharjah's east coast from the Stone Age to modern times with a fine collection of archaeological finds from Wadi Helo, Wadi Shi, Kalba and Dibba. At that time, attracted by the fresh water and fertile land, men settled and prospered there. Fascinating!
