WADI SHEES
This Emirates village, established over 150 years ago, continues to use traditional farming methods.
Wadi Shees (Shi or Shis) is one of the few villages in the Emirates that continues to use traditional agricultural methods. Established over 150 years ago, you can explore the village along a 1.5 km path, which leads to the discovery of the Falaj, a traditional method of irrigation that drains water from the mountain through a network of underground tunnels. You'll then pass through the hamlet, now inhabited by expatriates in charge of agricultural work, and on through the palm grove. At 1.5 km, there's a large picnic area at Shees Park.
