FORT AND MUSEUM OF AJMAN
A graceful fort that has become a museum, where you can learn about ancestral remedies and house-building techniques...
Built around 1775, this graceful fort, initially framed in cherry wood and carved in coral and gypsum, was severely damaged in 1820 during the British attack, then restored to serve as a Cherifian residence. One discovers with interest the galleries of arts and popular traditions, the ancestral remedies, the techniques of construction of the dwellings and the dhows, the results of the archaeological excavations. The current renovations will introduce 3D experiences and new technologies to bring the museum into the 21st century.
