PORT AUTONOME D'ABIDJAN

For the 1st time, the Port of Abidjan passed the 25 million tonnes of goods mark in 2019, with 25,738,345 tonnes recorded, up 6.5% on 2018. It should be noted that the Port of Abidjan has never achieved this level of traffic since 1950, the year it began operations, confirming the renewed dynamism and effective impact of the major reforms undertaken by the General Management of the Autonomous Port of Abidjan, starting in 2011.

This growth is mainly driven by domestic goods, which account for 89.8% of overall volume. In 2019, this traffic increased by 1,142,529 tonnes, or +5.2% on 2018.

This national traffic is made up of three main categories: general cargo with 14,817,471 tonnes, up +2.9% on 2018, petroleum products with 7,645,456 tonnes, up +10.4%, and fishing products with 642,449 tonnes, up +1.6%. This increase in all segments is indicative of a booming national economy. In view of all these achievements, the Port Autonome d'Abidjan would like to congratulate itself on the efforts made and the synergy developed by all the players on the port platform, which have enabled the Port of Abidjan to successfully achieve its ambitions.

All of which has enabled it to continue its growth.

The Abidjan port platform already has solid foundations. It is now a question of charting the course for continued, harmonious development, with a view to bequeathing to future generations an even more efficient tool, capable of supporting the growth of the national economy and asserting its sub-regional leadership on a lasting basis.
