CENTRE ARTISANAL

This craft center (not to be confused with the village at the entrance to the town) is located in a warehouse next to the National Costume Museum. It groups together some twenty craftsmen. On display are copies of the country's main traditional masks and statues, enriched by personal creations, musical instruments and decorative objects, jewelry and accessories. A number of craftsmen work in bronze using the "lost wax" technique used by Baoulé foundrymen. Artisan painters paint shimmering batiks.
