AZURETTI CEMETERY
Cemetery with headstones divided into three categories from east to west, as well as several European graves.
The Azuretti cemetery was created more than a century ago on the sandy strip marking the boundary between the coast and the bush. The tombstones that dot the cemetery can be divided into three categories from east to west: firstly, the vaults of the wealthy, with their angels and bronze and marble funerary stelae. Then the Muslim cemetery, and finally the villagers' cemetery, with epitaphs written with the tip of a finger or a stick on the wet cement. The cemetery also houses several graves of Europeans, including former governors.
