AKOULA ART PLAGE BY ABOUDIA
This incredibly beautiful place is both a life-size art gallery and a small café nestled in a coconut grove on Assinie beach. It is located almost opposite its sister property, Akoula Kan, on the other side of the lagoon. Just take a small pinasse to get there. You walk along under huge coconut palms, marvelling at this unique place. What could be more natural for street art than to embellish walls? Far from the classic art gallery, Art Plage is an abandoned concrete building, eroded by sea and wind, which has been given a new lease of life thanks to the talents of Aboudia, whose work is exhibited at the Galerie Cécile Fakhoury in Cocody. He led this innovative project with some of the country's most renowned contemporary artists. Here, the bomb is king, reconciling urban art and nature. The pink panther can be seen on numerous walls, while other striking works can be discovered in the ground-floor room and upstairs. From the elevated terrace, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the paradisiacal Assinie beach. Here, the immaculate white sand is flat, the rollers regular, the currents gentle and the bathing very safe. From your deckchair, you can watch the comings and goings of the colorful pirogues from the neighboring village of Ghanaian fishermen busy on the beach. Come and enjoy a moment of tranquillity in the shade of the coconut palms, or play a game of pétanque, volleyball, soccer or table tennis.
