On 7.5 hectares of preserved primary forest, the Gaoulou Island Nature Park, is home to several endemic species and one can encounter many varieties of birds and butterflies as well as the occasional manatee. There used to be a small tourist complex within the park, but today it is just a nice forgotten walk, which can be reached by canoe and preferably accompanied by a guide who knows the area well. If you're lucky, you might see a few hippos...
