Tiémoko Touré is a Manois elder who makes mortars and pestles, used by women in the kitchen and in the garden. His are really pretty, with decorative friezes and patterns skillfully carved into the wood and impeccably finished with perfectly varnished rounds. So, even if you never plan to set up in the garden to mash your vegetables, take one home as a souvenir. Prices are very low considering the remarkable quality of the work.
