Launched in 1964, the Bouaké Carnival features a full week of festivities, including a fair, float parade, majorettes, masked ball, election of Miss Carnival and more. It culminates in the incineration of the Carnival statue, the highlight of the festival. Renamed the "Bouaké Carnival Forum Fair", this emblematic event of Ivorian cultural life is a must-see if you're in the region at this time of year. Nearly 400 merchants take part in the festival.
