MONAS
Indonesia's national monument, a remarkable tower with a museum at its base tracing the country's history and independence.
The Monas is located in the second largest square in the world after Dalian Square in China. Indonesia's national monument is 137 m high. The top of the tower is a 14.5-tonne flame, covered in 35 kilos of gold! At its base is a museum tracing Indonesia's history and independence. To see the city, the Istiqal Mosque and St. Mary's Cathedral in Jakarta from its observation deck, you'll have to queue for almost 40 minutes, enter a tiny elevator and finally reach the observation esplanade.
