BATUTULIS
Stele inscribed by the Pajajaran king, Prabu Purana, in honor of his father, Sri Baduga Maharaja Hajj, an object of pilgrimage.
Batutulis means "engraved stones": some 800 engravings have been recorded in the surrounding area. The best known is Prasati Batutulis, a pilgrimage object inscribed by the Pajajaran king, Prabu Purana, in honor of his father, Sri Baduga Maharaja Hajj. Historians hesitate between 2 dates: 1333 or 1533. President Sukarno, no doubt wishing to benefit from the stone's magical aura, built his house on the other side and wanted to be buried there. Suharto preferred to move the burial site further away! Before entering, take off your shoes and pay a small fee.
