KUBUR BATU NUABARI
Stone tombs of tribal chiefs and ancestors of wealthy families in Nuabari, a megalithic heritage from Sikka-Flores to Moni
Located in the village of Lenandareta, the Nuabari stone tombs are part of the megalithic heritage of Sikka-Flores. These tombs, reserved for tribal chiefs and ancestors of wealthy families, house the deceased in the foetal position. This ancestral practice is typical of the Nuabari people. Easily accessible by road to this culturally rich site, the village is around 6 km from the Wolowiri T-junction on the Trans Flores, between Maumere and Ende. The views along the road are breathtaking.
