All major vessels of Pelni travelling to East Kalimantan, the Moluccas, New Guinea (Irian Jaya) and the Small Islands of the Probe (Nusa Tenggara), or returning to them, pass through the crossroads of Indonesia: Ujung Pandang. Here are the established circuits:
Rinjani follows the Road Dumai-Tanjung Pinang - Muntok - Jakarta - Surabaya - Ujung Pandang - Bau Bau - Ambon - Sorong. And return. Count one cabotage week in each direction.
The:: Balikpapan - Bau-Bau - Ujung Pandang - Nunukan - Pantoloan - Pare - Tarakan - Toli-Toli.
The Kerinci goes from Medan to Ternate and follows the road Medan - Jakarta - Surabaya - Makassar - Bau-Bau - Ambon - Bitung - Ternate - Bau Bau - Makassar - Surabaya - Jakarta - Medan. The circuit repeats itself every two weeks.
The Kelumutu crosses in the Small probe islands: Lembar - Surabaya - Bandjarmasin - Surabaya - Benoa - Bima - Waigapu - Waigapu - Kupang - Dili - Kalabahi - Maumere - Makassar - Maumere - Kalabahi - Dili - Kupang - Ende - Waigapu - Bima, and return to Bima. It also takes place every two weeks.
Le the Strait of Makassar: Balikpapan - Makassar - Nunukan - Pantoloan ()) - Pare - Surabaya - Tarakan.
Vogue Vogue from Medan to Manado: Belawan - Jakarta - Surabaya - Ujung Pandang - Balikpapan - Pantoloan ()) - Toli-Toli - Bitung - Toli-Toli - Pantoloan - Balikpapan - Ujung Pandang - Surabaya - Jakarta.
The:: Batulicin - Blinyu - Kalabahi - Kijang - Kupang - Larantuka - Ujung Pandang - Semarang - TG Priok.
The:: Denpasar - Ende - Kalabahi - Kupang - Larantuka - Lembar - Lewoleba - Ujung - Ujung - Maumere - Pare - Pare - Pare - Waingapu.
