Authentic traditional village with beautifully decorated Tongkonan, iconic family homes and Alang.
Karuaya, a traditional village whose inhabitants still cherish ancestral beliefs and customs. Nearby, a sandalwood tree marks the commemoration of a historic agreement between tribes, known as the Basse Kasalle, following a major conflict in 1683 in Tana Toraja. The village consists of three beautifully decorated Tongkonan , emblematic family homes, and ten Alang, rice granaries, all preserving their original bamboo roofs.
