European, Indonesian and Chinese cuisine. Colonial architecture and airy terrace. Tip-top here means "perfect". Expatriates usually hang out in the air-conditioned back room. The menu includes grilled meats, rice and fried chicken, gado-gado and soups, as well as chocolate cakes, sorbets, ice creams and many pastries. The rissoles are said to be delicious. Open since 1934, this Medan institution may have aged a little, but it's still well worth a visit.
