SUMATRA UTARA MUSEUM (NORTH SUMATRA)
Museum presenting a historical overview of North Sumatra with archaeological artefacts, ethnographic objects, fine arts, etc
Located south of the Royal Mosque, not far from the "Sisingamangaraja" bemos station, this museum, inaugurated in 1954 by President Saekarno, presents a historical overview of the province of North Sumatra, with archaeological artifacts, ethnographic objects, fine arts and natural history. The building, easily recognizable, is shaped like a Batak house. Don't worry: all texts are translated from Bahasa Indonesian into English. Worth seeing.
