Located close to the historic district, this museum, built in the traditional Minangkabau architectural style, offers a vast collection of antiques and objects of interest to ethnography enthusiasts. Exhibits cover everything from West Sumatran ingredients and cooking utensils to Minang jewelry and traditional clothing, as well as Bundo Kanduang traditional dress. The museum offers a peaceful garden in which to relax. Severely damaged in the earthquake of September 30, 2009, it has since been rebuilt.
