Dangbé temple dedicated to the cult of the python, dozens of which bask in one of the small huts

The Dangbé temple is dedicated to the cult of the python, with dozens of specimens lounging in one of the small huts. If you'd like to have a python around your neck, the guide will be happy to pass it on to you for a small fee. Otherwise, he'll tell you all about the python, a voodoo god revered as far away as Grand-Popo, where his image adorns many temples. In Ouidah, the Xweda and Fon families who worship the python Dangbè (also known as Dan) are distinguished by scarification marks symbolizing the python's forehead.

The temple is very BASIC drank the asset is when the guard could has royal python around your neck. At the beginning it has bit scary especially when it starts to touch you language. However later it is Nice and fascinating to see the head looking around to check edible'if you are (just joking: - D)
... and " Fifty-Fifty" there is a church opposite: another example of religious and cultural tolerance of the Benineses.
The setting in trust of the " prêtre" Voodoo allows the yovo to exceed its apprehensions, seized a python, to stroke it and pass in col around its neck. Beyond, it is the training respect for a religion that venere this snake as soft as a cat, moreover detracts inhabitants of Ouidah of rodents, rats and mice, that in danger food reserves.
