After the death in 2005 of the much-loved King Bagana Orou Sourou II, President of the Kings of Benin and member of the Human Rights Commission, he was succeeded by Bagana Sorou III. His grandfather was already king around the 17th or 18th century. As was the case during the reign of his predecessor, the protocol for foreigners in the palace of Bagana Sorou III is reduced to its simplest expression.
