CHWB
This non-governmental organization of architects and restorers was founded in 1995 in Sweden as a response to the conflict in Bosnia and Herzegovina, although it quickly expanded its work into other areas of conflict. The NGO is dedicated to rescuing and protecting cultural heritage, tangible or intangible, that has been affected by conflict, neglect or natural disaster. With this work they seek, in addition to preserving these assets, also to protect the human rights of the most vulnerable local population; they use this cultural heritage as a force for peace so that people recover their identity and dignity.
One of the three offices in the Balkans is located in Sarajevo (more information on the website: www.chwb.org/bih).
