The Royal Opera House is Sweden's national opera and ballet theater, founded by Gustav III in 1773. Situated on the waterfront opposite the Royal Palace, the Royal Opera House was built between 1892 and 1899 in Renaissance style, after the original building had been destroyed. Once past the marble entrance hall, the large murals by national artist Carl Larsson are revealed. Unfortunately, operas and ballets are not on in summer, but autumn, winter and spring are in full swing!
