A beautiful traditional ceremony in honor of the death of Sankta Lucia, a Catholic who died for her faith in the year 304.
This traditional festival celebrates the death of Sankta Lucia, a Catholic who died for her faith in the year 304. Every year, each town and village in Sweden elects its Lucia: she parades, with other children, dressed in white, with a red belt and a crown of candles on her head. Then the traditional song of Saint Lucia is sung and people drink glögg and eat saffron cakes to prepare for Christmas. A festival full of charm and sweetness, often with a beautiful choir accompanying the parade. Chills guaranteed!
