Swedes celebrate the arrival of spring by lighting fires all over the city. The evening is spent singing and dancing.
Every year on April 30, Swedes celebrate the arrival of spring at the Valborgsmässoafton festival, more commonly known as Valborg. After dark, fires are lit all over the city and the evening is spent singing and feasting to mark the end of winter. In Stockholm, the Skansen Museum is the perfect place to take part in the festivities in a traditional Swedish setting. However, the celebration takes place absolutely everywhere in the country.
