From a hairdressing salon to more than 110 branches in four countries: FOREX Bank has developed well since 1927. Everything started in the lobby of a barber located near Stockholm central station. Mr. Gyllenspets understood that his clients were mainly tourists with a high need for local currency, slowly transformed his shop into a small exchange office. It continued until the late 1960 s under the authority of the National Railway Company. Until the early 1990 s, FOREX was the only company outside the banks has been authorised by the Bank of Sweden.
