The Swedish Poison Center, located in Stockholm, is an emergency service available 24 hours a day, every day of the year. They answer questions about acute poisoning and advise on appropriate treatment in the event of intoxication. The service is open to all, including hospitals, doctors and the general public. When you call, you'll speak directly to a specially trained pharmacist. In an emergency, dial 112 and ask for poison information, day or night. For less urgent matters, dial 010-456 6700, also day or night. The Swedish Poison Center mainly treats poisoning in adults, children and European adder bites. They also provide information brochures on poisonous mushrooms and the risks of poisoning for children.
