CASTLE (ÖREBRO SLOTT)
Originally an observation tower in the 13th century, then a manor house in the 15th century, Örebro Castle only took on its final configuration at the end of the 19th century. The building, with its four rounded towers, is situated on Svartån, the Black River. Since the 18th century, the building has been occupied by the governor of the region, but part of the castle is open to the public and also hosts temporary exhibitions. Access is along the right-hand side of the walls, after the small bridge. Guided tours are available all year round.
