This large area, a 25-minute walk from the center (or by bus 5 from Stortorget), is at once an open-air museum, a nature reserve and a farm. At the turn of the century, the owner of the forest bequeathed his land to the town, with the requirement that it be preserved. The result is brilliant: a stone's throw from the city stands a coniferous forest several hundred years old and a vast wetland where thousands of birds congregate.
