In Hamntorget, you can see this sculpture, signed by Carl Milles and executed in 1923. On 29 April 1921, his seventieth birthday, the film director Malte Sommelius announced that he wanted to donate a monument symbolising the city to Helsingborg. He asked Milles to make it. Unfortunately, Malte Sommelius did not get to see his magnificent gift because he died at the end of 1922. The sculpture is nineteen metres high.
