Close to Öland Bridge, a hotel with swimming pool in a former court house from the 18th century. In its grounds are the remains of a fortress. The land surrounding the hotel is an old fortification, called Kråkerkärs Skans, from which the name Hotel Skansen was taken in 1901. The fortification was built in 1643 by Sweden to defend itself against the Danes. Today, this luxury hotel is a true paradise, with comfortable rooms, a fine restaurant and spa-like treatments.
