This year marks the 40th anniversary of Medieval Week, with the theme of food and drink. Medieval tournaments are also held throughout the summer, with competitions in chivalry, archery and brass bands. Visitors can also camp at a modern medieval campsite close to the festival. In addition to the main activities, there are a wide variety of shows, craft markets and historic sites to visit.
