Ce n'est pas un resto gastronomique mais les plats sont bons et les portions correctes.
On the north side of the Liffey, just at the Ha'penny Bridge, this place is a gem. The menu isn't huge, but it is amazing.
Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and the food.... Out of this world!
The Striploin Steak was amazing, with the crispiest of crispy, hand cut chips, and some kind of dark & sticky sauce. BBQ Mackrell starter was banging, and the Wooly Wings really hit the spot. Some really tasty red wine, and no-alco cocktails.
It is a bit on the expensive side - 1 starter, 2 mains (one of which was the steak), 2 glasses of amazing red wine, an alco-free cocktail and a 10% service charge came in at just over €100 - but worth every penny!!
Definitely recommend.
Service, ambiance and the views of the bridge is what makes this place popular.
The Woollen Mills is the type of place that is simply OK. There's nothing wrong with the food but then there's nothing really outstanding either.
For instance the caesar salad was 90% lettuce and very little else. The nachos starter was unfortunately very bland despite the enthusiastic write up on the menu.
The setting is really nice but could do with some soft furnishing to dampen the reflected noise from other diners.
The one redeeming feature for me is that they offer Old Jamaican Ginger Beer, always a plus point ????
