Great staff, good vegetable curry, nice vibe. I was looking for a place to watch MotoGP and when I asked the bartender if they planned on showing it, he offered to turn one of the tv's to it so I could watch. Great service and much appreciated.

We have been to what is now The Donnybrook under three guises. This time, we went late on Mother's Day. They had a fixed price menu, which was more than we wanted/needed. The portions were huge. Tho' my wife left a lot of food behind, she enjoyed the outing. I can't remember the details now, but I would have preferred more choice.Still, it's an asset to the area, and deserves to succeed.

I've had a better meal at McDonlads.... 6 of us ordered the roast of the day, and out came the toughest piece of meat that I have ever had the misfortune to eat, and only received two small slices on each plate which were covered in grissel.

Another got fish and chips, which was probably more suited for a childs meal, than a fully grown man.

As long as I have a hole in my backside, I'll never eat there again.
AVOID.....

Has a sports bar feel now and good space for bigger groups

Waitress was excellent, nice vibe in the renovated pub. Food portion for the fish and chips was so small that we actually laughed when it came out. €19 for such a minuscule portion is just not good enough.
Drinks were also very expensive, but that possibly could have been overcome with better food portions. A pity because the food was good quality. Very hard to recommend based on value for money.

Not great, waiter had a poor attitude and was totally ruining my positive vibe and stunk of negativity, food took its time to come out and there was no forks available so had to eat my steak with my hands which totally ruined my vibe would not recommend for any positive minded people

Great food but expensive. The sign is still up though from months ago

Very average food. Place seems very disorganised with staff not seeming to have a clue what’s going on. No one seems in charge. You think there’s take service but then you have to hunt down your own menu, order at the bar and then ask for condiments when your food is flung on the table. Burgers are pretty muck

Phenomenal atmosphere. They've really improved the pubs image. Sad to say it's temple bar prices. €18.60 for a Guinness and Chardonnay is really pushing it. Won't be going back which is a shame as I enjoyed the image and buzz from the place

Great welcome to Donnybrook Nice tasteful refurbishment looks fresh cosy setting and inviting. Great facelift from previous setup with better utilisation of space. Very family friendly ! Staff are very friendly and attentive. Tried the wild mushroom arancini 9 euro (u get x3 only) and & chicken wings a bit undercooked (they readily took it back for a fresh batch for 12 euro (although also small portion I felt). My only comment is the portion is way too small for the price like x8 chicken wings approx?!
I think it will evolve as it goes along & keep an open mind to feedback. It already has a lot more people than previous so best of luck????????promising start ! Looking forward to try rest of menu!

The worst service I think I have ever experienced. All the floor staff/waiting staff finished at 8pm (I’m guessing, certainly during our meal) during a reasonably busy time, we literally brought our own plates and glasses to the bar & order a drink. Even when they were there, service was poor, no experience, no leadership/guidance from manager, who was on his laptop as we were leaving, with virtually ever unoccupied table in the place dirty with plates etc.

Friendly staff. The menu has changed and is not so extensive which is good. There's something for everyone.

This isn’t Donny Gastropub, it is a picture of my chickpea stew, but I’m sure the Gastropub is just lovely

What a great spot. Dropped in for some pre-dinner drinks and was taken aback. Really well laid out pub, staff were amazing and drinks were incredibly reasonably priced. Superb couple of pints of Guinness, few G & Ts and remarkably less expensive than expected. Food looked amazing & if we hadn't booked dinner elsewhere would definitely have sampled the menu. Highly recommend this spot, for atmosphere, drinks, quality of staff and just overall experience. Definitely coming back!

Food was disappointing. Veg soup very salty. Dominant flavour and ingredient in the chowder was PEAS - weird and not what I expected.
Wouldn't recommend
