An excellent address in Dublin. This chic restaurant (which has had a Michelin star for many years) has been tastefully fitted out in a Georgian building. Exposed stone walls, intimate setting, sober and refined décor; it is possible to dine in one of the private rooms or to settle down at the "Chef's Table", a surprising place which lends itself to the tasting of the 4 course menu. Finnish chef Mickael Viljanen's menu changes with the seasons, but the pleasure remains. Finally, the wine cellar is impressive.

Absolutely spectacular restaurant, we've been a number of times and ever time it keeps getting better and better. The food is phenomenal, the service is outstanding and drinks are fantastic. Everything about the place is fabulous and I can't wait to come back!

It was my first time at this restaurant, and I actually flew in from America to surprise my sister for her birthday. The staff could not have been more accommodating to make the surprise happen. They were truly magnificent all the staff. I was lucky enough to enjoy a couple of cocktails before my sister arrived, and they hit me down the back bar, which is a delightful space, and the cocktails were excellent and I surprised my sister and family. The meal that followed was truly exceptional. we did the nine course tasting menu. I’ve eaten at a number of Michelin star restaurants throughout my life, thankfully are luckily, and chapter 1 is probably the best I’ve been to. The food is on a different level and I had heard beforehand that some people had left hungry and that the courses weren’t that big but by the end of dinner I was stuffed and I could barely finish the dessert. If you’re truly looking for a culinary experience and to treat yourself, I could think of nowhere better in Ireland to go.

What an astounding demonstration of top class cookery skills. Every course of the tasting menu was a different and unique display of how flavours and food textures can be combined to deliver a superb dining experience. The canape of artichoke and emmental is worth a special mention. The service was excellent, attentive without being overpowering and timing of courses was right on the money. Will definitely return.

Poor experience catering to children - very little flexibility in terms of what would be available for them. Unusual attitude for a fine dining restaurant in Ireland, very disappointing
