I will be back whenever I am in Dublin.
From the moment you enter the smokey flavours hit your nostrils. Service is stellar, coats promptly taken and directed to your table. Service remained prompt and thorough throughout, with Jack taking genuine interest in how we found the food.
Food itself was mind-blowing. We opted for the prawn starter and rendang spring rolls. We'll revisit Dublin for those spring rolls alone. Sensational.
Mains were the shortrib and the pork chop, complemented by the potatoes and the tenderstem broccoli. Both exceptional with beyond generous in quantity.
This is one meal I'll never forget. Above and beyond in quality, quantity and value.
We ordered one of every mains on the menu and shared between us - everyone was pleased! My favourites were the chicken mains and the chocolate mousse dessert.
Cannot recommend highly enough (though I can't say what food is like for vegetarian diners)
I would highly recommend booking. We went mid week and they were fully booked all evening.
Our meal was absolutely delicious and we agreed it was one of the best we’ve had in the last twelve months. We both had the rending spring rolls and short rib. Both dishes were excellent, with perfectly tender meat and gorgeous flavours. We shared a side of fried potatoes and were both very satisfied with the portions.
Another nice touch is the email that follows requesting feedback or suggestions, you get the sense that staff genuinely want to make the experience as enjoyable as possible. We will definitely be recommending Mister S to our friends and will hopefully make it back in the not-too-distant future to try some of the other dishes on the menu.
What truly impressed me was the impeccable service throughout my visit. The staff was attentive, accommodating, and ensured a smooth dining experience from the moment I walked in. Moreover, considering the quality of the food and service, the pricing offered great value, especially for a restaurant located in the heart of Dublin City.
One highlight of the dining experience was the impressive wine list. “Mister S” boasts a selection of gem wines, and what caught my attention was the affordability of premium wines. It’s rare to find such high-quality wines at such reasonable prices, making the dining experience even more enjoyable.
In summary, “Mister S” is a hidden gem in Dublin City, offering exceptional food, impeccable service, and a stellar wine selection. Whether for a casual lunch or a special occasion dinner, it’s definitely a restaurant worth visiting time and time again.
The food was absolutely exceptional, leaving my taste buds in a state of pure bliss.
The staff were not only incredibly helpful, but also genuinely nice, making me feel welcomed and valued as a customer.
Their attentiveness and friendly demeanor added an extra touch of warmth to the overall dining experience.
I cannot recommend Mister S enough for anyone looking for a memorable and delightful open ???? culinary adventure.
The restaurant has a nice atmosphere with helpful staff, who were very helpful selecting a nice wine for the meal.
We would recommend any of the dishes that we ordered for this meal, which were:
To start, we had the Burrata/Muhammara and foccacia and the duck leg with raspberry bbq sauce.
For mains we had the smoked beef shortrib with chimichurri and the grilled chicken with harissa jus and labneh.
For dessert we had the chocolate mousse with sesame tuille and milk sorbet.
Overall we'd highly recommend this restaurant, but be prepared to drop a decent amount of money - in the evenings they have a two course minimum.
For starters we had the ‘Burrata, Muhammara, Focaccia’ and the ‘Prawns, Bisque & Coconut Sauce’. Both were stunning!
For mains we had the ‘Smoked Beef Shortrib, Chimichurri’ as well as the ‘Ribeye, Smoked Béarnaise‘ and shared the ‘Fried Potatoes, Onion Salt, Aioli’ which was amazing and the ‘Tenderstem Broccoli & Black Garlic Dressing’. Mains are good and cooked to our liking.
To top things off we both had the ‘Passion Fruit, Burnt Meringue, Coconut’. The coconut ice cream was delicious but overall it was a bit too acidic for us. All in all a great place with delicious food!
????️ given the intimate size of the venue, it’s almost essential you book to avoid any disappointment.
???? starters- spring rolls and smoked duck, we’re superb really rich, tasty nicely presented.
???? mains - monk fish and the smoked rib(can’t remember the dish name) both a solid 10.
This isn’t a place of style over substance, it’s consistent from the get go. Great service, good cellar, not so good if you just want to order by the glass, but pretty forgivable for more expensive wines.
I can’t imagine anyone walking away disappointed, it really is very good hence its well deserved place in the Michelin Guide 2024
Only suggestion. Would be great to have a chefs table experience!
