SAINT AUDOEN'S CHURCH OF IRELAND
One of the oldest churches in the Irish capital, with a tower containing the country's oldest bells.
In the heart of Dublin's medieval quarter, here is one of the oldest churches in the Irish capital. Built in 1190 by the Normans to replace the Celtic church of St. Columcille, it is dedicated to St. Ouen, bishop of Rouen and patron saint of Normandy. The back tower contains three bells cast in 1423, the oldest in Ireland. The park of the church pays tribute to the children who died during the uprising of 1916. A nice visit.
